CNE MOVES TO COVER THE
SPANSISH-SPEAKING WORLD

BRUSSELS, 04 MARCH 2004 — The Centre for the New Europe is delighted that from 1st March 2004, Gabriel Calzada has been the organisation's first Visiting Fellow to cover Spain and the Spanish-speaking world.

Born in Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Gabriel is in the process of finishing his PhD thesis under Professor Jesus Huerta de Soto in Madrid.

A graduate in Economics, Gabriel speaks Spanish, English, German and Dutch. And his areas of academic expertise include Austrian economics, monetary theory, and the workings of insurance markets.

Today, a regular contributor to La Ilustracion Liberal, Libertad Digital and numerous other press and media outlets, he has previously worked at the Ludwig von Mises Institute and the Acton Institute.

Set to help launch CNE.org's new Spanish Channel in early April, he will clearly help the organisation to project its ideas and work to Spanish-speakers - be they in Europe or further afield.
