The Issue

The Speakers

Bill Emmott is an independent writer and former editor of The Economist, and has published numerous books on Asian economics and politics. He writes regular columns in Japanese, Brazilian and Italian newspapers, and has been awarded several journalism awards, including the "decade of excellence" award from the World Leadership Forum's business journalism awards programme, a "lifetime achievement" award from the Work Foundation, and the Italian "È giornalismo" ("This is journalism") award, the first time that a foreigner had been given this prestigious Italian journalism prize.
