ANTI-TRUST REGULATION:
the case of Microsoft



The Issue

Following Monti's March 24th ruling on Microsoft, Alberto Mingardi wants to discuss the shortcomings of antitrust regulations in a perspective of political philosophy (that is, antitrust and theories of appropriation), in the light of the Microsoft case .

The Speaker

photo: Alberto MingardiAlberto Mingardi is Globalization and Competition Director with the Istituto Bruno Leoni, the Italian free-market think tank. In addition, he is a Visiting Fellow with CNE, sits on the Scientific Board of the Fondazione Liberal, and is an Associate Fellow with the Danish think tank Markeds Centret.

In the past, he has worked or interned in different American think tanks. In 2002, he was a Calihan Fellow at the Acton Institute for Study of Religion and Liberty.

His most recent book, Lettera a un amico no-global ("Letter to an antiglobalist friend") is available from Rubbettino.

Mingardi has contributed to a wide range of publications, in Italian as well as in English, including The Wall Street Journal, Economic Affairs, Markets and Morality, TechCentralStation, National Review On Line, Mises.org, Il Riformista, Libero, and Studi Cattolici.
