Dr.
José Piñera is Distinguished Fellow of the Cato Institute, in
Washington DC, and co-chairman of Cato's Project on Social Security
Choice. As Chile's secretary of labor and social security, he was the
architect of that country's successful privatization of its pension
system. As founder and president of the International Center for Pension
Reform, Piñera now advises governments throughout the world on the establishment
of privatized pension systems. During his public service career, he
also designed the labor laws that introduced flexibility to the Chilean
labor market and was responsible for the constitutional law that established
private property rights in Chilean mines. He is also chairman of Proyecto
Chile 2010, a Chilean free-market think tank. He received an M.A. and
a Ph.D. (1974) in economics from Harvard University. Leonardo Facco
Editore (link)
published a book by José Piñera in Italian, entitled "Pensioni: Un Affare
Privato", with a preface by Italian Defense Minister, and member of
CNE Academic Council, Professor Antonio Martino.
Mademoiselle
Sabine Herold is a 21-year-old student who is challenging France's
silent majority to revolt against the strikes crippling her country.
On May 25, she addressed a 2,000 people demonstration in front of Paris'
townhall. On June 15, she organized and addressed 80,000 people demonstrating
against the Unions’ tyranny. Miss Herold has been nicknamed "the Joan
d'Arc of the liberals" by Le Figaro and, by the London Times
"Mademoiselle Thatcher". She is "Rédactrice en chef" of the Paris-based
free-market association "Liberté j'écris ton nom".
