"Dutch Health Care Reform"
A discussion with Machel Nuyten




As part of the Centre for the New Europe's continuing survey of European health care systems, Mr. Machel Nuyten will outline recent reforms in the Dutch health care system and examine some unique and promising health care pilot programmes in the Netherlands.

 






Machel Nuyten is senior healthcare adviser at the VNO-NCW, the Dutch employers’ organisation. He has held his post since February 2001. Prior to that he spent five years at the Dutch Association Hospitals.

From 1994-96 he advised the Chambers of Commerce on health policy, supervising private legislation, and for two year before that he was an in house lawyer at the Dutch Health Care Assurance Association.
