Focusing on France, Germany, the UK and public sector health care in the United States, Dr. Redwood will discuss why, how and where health care is rationed.

Dr. Redwood was an expert witness in Ottawa at the Senate of Canada hearings on the repeal of compulsory licensing ['C-91'] in 1993; and at the House of Commons Health Committee hearings on the National Health Service Drug Budget in London in 1994. He has spoken at health care seminars and conferences in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Dr. Redwood's published studies of health care topics include: The Price of Health, Adam Smith Institute, London 1989; The Dynamics of Drug Pricing and Reimbursement in the European Community,1992; New Horizons in India, 1994; Brazil -The future impact of pharmaceutical patents, 1995; Why Ration Health Care? - An international study of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and public sector health care in the USA, CIVITAS: Institute for the Study of Civil Society, London 2000. Dr. Redwood is currently working on his next book, Where is the Pharmaceutical Industry Going?
